Admissions
Admissions offices are swamped with paper. Rules numbered one through
ten: keep copies of everything you ever submit. Once you turn a piece of
paper over to the admissions office, chances are they will do an excellent job
at processing your application. If you are submitting your application on line,
save a copy to a file on your computer, or print a hardcopy.
But, But, if there is a lost item, you will have a copy. Further, it is nice
to have a folder with copies of all applications materials so you can use it
again if need be.
Meeting admissions requirements often includes proof of residency if the
institution is state government supported. Keep rent receipts, or get a drivers
license or identification card before you make application. That way there will
be no question as to your residency.
Admissions workers are very knowledgeable about the process. Make a list of
questions you may have so that when you go there, and you will go there and back
many times, you will be able to get all your questions answered. Later you will
come up with another list.
