Certificates and Licenses

Many occupations require a certificate, license, or college degree to enter. If you seek a position in one of these areas, you need to quickly investigate what the requirements are before beginning. Time is limited by lifespan. There is no advantage in spending time working toward a goal if you do not have a clear fix on what that goal involves.

An educational institution may not be the person to contact about the certificate, license, or degree requirements. Perhaps a better level of inquiry would be with an employer.

Local, state, and national licensing departments exist. They might also be a good place to begin. Use the Google search box to find the requirements for your selected occupation. Be sure to enter the state you plan to work in as a part of the search. Different areas probably have different requirements.
